Police have arrested local musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, in connection with the death of Wilfred Namuwaya, alias Top Dancer, a former member of his Fangone Forest crew.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrest, saying Mulwana turned himself in to the Directorate of Crime Intelligence before being transferred to Katwe Police Station for questioning.
“Alien Skin, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, has been arrested today, October 1, 2025, in connection with the death of Wilfred Namuwaya. He is currently at Katwe Police where his statement is being recorded,” Mr Onyango said.
Investigators say Namuwaya was picked from his home in Ndeeba by a man identified as Musomali, who is linked to Fangone Forest, and taken at night to the group’s base in Kizungu, Makindye. His decision to quit the crew is believed to have angered Alien Skin.
Before his death, Namuwaya reportedly told detectives that he had been abducted and tortured on the musician’s orders.
“They picked me up at my home, claiming that I stole something, and took me back. When they reached there, I was beaten and kicked by several people on orders of Alien, saying: ‘Why did I leave the group?’” Namuwaya recounted before succumbing to his injuries.
A doctor at Ayaan Life Care Medical Center, who requested anonymity, said Namuwaya was abandoned outside the facility in critical condition.
“He had severe internal bleeding beyond our capacity. We tried to stabilize him through the night before referring him to Mulago Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival,” the doctor said.
Police say they are also hunting for Alien Skin’s associates, including Commander Mdogo, Ibra Kabadiya, and Mijagulo, for their alleged role in the fatal assault.
“The group severely beat Namuwaya and later dumped him at a clinic. We are pursuing all those involved,” Mr Onyango added.
Neighbors said Namuwaya had worked with Alien Skin for two years before leaving Fangone Forest.
“Before he died, he appeared in a video that was trending online, where Alien Skin’s men covered his eyes as he ordered the beating. He was later dumped in a bad condition,” said David Byamugisha, a neighbor of the deceased.
Police records at Katwe link Alien Skin and his group to several violent incidents. In one case last year, his crew stormed Nsambya Hospital after a colleague was injured in a car accident, demanding medical forms from doctors. When denied, they allegedly assaulted a doctor and two security guards, leaving three people seriously injured. Alien Skin was arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison for several weeks before securing bail.
In another incident the same year, he allegedly assaulted Tonny Ntale, a bouncer at Vox Bar in Makindye, after being asked to comply with security procedures.
