Themed Ekyigunda Ky’omuliro – The Gathering of the Flame, this year’s Nyege Nyege Festival promises to be the most spectacular yet, marking a decade of music, culture, and creative freedom. The festival returns to Kalagala Falls in Kangulumira from November 20–23, 2025, for its landmark 10th anniversary edition.
Since its modest beginnings in 2015 as a riverside gathering, Nyege Nyege has evolved into a global cultural phenomenon.
“From the very beginning, Nyege Nyege was about creating a space for freedom, creativity, and cultural exchange. Reaching 10 years is a powerful testament to the community that has embraced this vision and turned Nyege Nyege into a world-renowned festival. This anniversary is not just our celebration—it’s Uganda’s,” said Derek Debru, co-founder of the festival, during a press conference at TAG offices.
Over four unforgettable days, festivalgoers will experience five dynamic stages and more than 300 acts. The programming cuts across genres—from electronic, hip hop, dancehall, amapiano, and afrobeats, to live bands and traditional sounds from across Africa and beyond.
The first phase lineup has already been unveiled, featuring global icons such as DJ Skrillex (USA), Flowdan (UK), Tash LC (UK), DJ Travella (Tanzania), Boutross (Kenya), Bclip (Colombia), Dylan Brady (USA), among others. A second phase, spotlighting Uganda’s leading DJs and acts, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
“Nyege Nyege at 10 is more than a festival—it is a movement that has shaped Uganda’s place on the global cultural map. At Talent Africa Group, we are proud to produce this landmark edition and deliver an unforgettable experience that celebrates our creative spirit, our music, our tourism, and our people,” said Aly Allibhai, CEO of Talent Africa Group.
The festival will transform Kalagala Falls and its surrounding sites—including Adrift Uganda’s Adventure Centre, The River Club, The Overland Camp, and two community-owned tourism sites—into a vibrant cultural and adventure hub. Alongside the music, guests will enjoy rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping, and other adrenaline-filled experiences.
But the 10th anniversary goes beyond music. For the first time, Nyege Nyege will integrate two of Uganda’s leading cultural showcases in fashion and film. In partnership with Kwetu Kwanza, the festival will present iconic regional and continental fashion brands with a strong focus on sustainability. Meanwhile, Matatu Stage will curate a film program highlighting some of the most exciting short films from Uganda and across Africa.
A daytime conference and workshop hub will add another layer, creating space for dialogue, skills-sharing, and cultural exchange. Central to this vision is the inaugural African Electronic Music Conference, which will bring together more than 15 cultural organizations from across the continent to collaborate and explore the future of electronic music in Africa.
This expanded programming aligns with Uganda’s cultural and tourism policies, both of which recognize the creative industries as engines of development. By blending music, film, fashion, and dialogue, Nyege Nyege reinforces Uganda’s reputation as a global hub for creativity, sustainability, and tourism.
Another highlight this year is the involvement of international streaming platforms Kiosk Radio (Belgium) and The Lot Radio (New York), which will broadcast the festival to global audiences, with support from the Belgian Embassy.
Ten years on, Nyege Nyege remains more than a festival—it is a symbol of unity, creativity, and Uganda’s enduring spirit of celebration.
