The second leg of the Bell ObaFest Regional Tour lit up Masaka on Saturday, as Uganda’s biggest beer festival served a flavour-led experience to hundreds of enthusiastic partygoers at Chomaz Lounge. On arrival, revellers were treated to an exclusive offer on the new Citrus and Honey flavours as the ticket for admittance. The air was rich with the irresistible aroma of roasting Nyama to warm up the appetites of evening’s guests for a night of flavour exploration and celebration. The night was masterfully guided by MC Marvin Solo, who warmed up the crowd for an opening set from the DJ duo of Mel Pro and Bratta. The local hero’s welcome, however, was reserved for Masaka’s own mixing maestro, Suuna Ben, who was met with a wave of enthusiasm as he took the stage.
He offered a heartfelt appreciation to his supporters before launching into his signature ‘kinyanya nyanya’ session that had the venue with an occasional branch waved in the air. The connection was evident as fans showed their love through cheers and tips. The excitement reached a fever pitch as the opening notes of Nandor Love’s ‘Kinawolovu’ filled the lounge, drawing the entire crowd toward the stage. The starlet, in a commanding performance, took revellers on a journey through her growing discography, including fan favorites like Mpologoma and Gukuba, solidifying the night as a celebration of Uganda’s flourishing music scene. Speaking on the resounding success of the Masaka activation, Herbert Ndugga, Sales Manager for Bell, expressed his delight.
“The energy at Chomaz was simply phenomenal! This year, we are all about taking the party across Uganda to ensure everyone can find their flavour with ObaFest, and Masaka embraced it with an incredible passion. This is what we mean when we say Bell is the official beer of enjoyments,” he said As the cool night air settled, the warmth inside Chomaz Lounge never dimmed, with DJ Woodgates providing the perfect soundtrack to play off the ecstatic crowd into the wee hours of the morning.
The Choma Lounge event was preceded by a week of engaging spot activations throughout and around the town, building excitement and giving the broader Masaka community a taste of the flavour-filled experience. The regional tour continues to Arua with the next major stop at Capital One Lounge on November 8. All roads then lead to the grand finale of Uganda’s biggest beer celebration on November 15 at the Millennium Grounds, Lugogo in Kampala, with tickets on sale at Shs30,000 via FlexiPay.
