The creative pulse of Kampala is set to quicken this week as the Amplify Uganda Music Expo (AUMEX) returns for its second edition on November 7, 2025, at MOTIV Kampala.
More than just a music showcase, AUMEX has grown into a powerful movement — one that fuses music, mentorship, and innovation to shape a sustainable future for Uganda’s creative economy. This year’s theme, “Building Scalable Futures for Ugandan Music,” underscores its mission to push local artistry to global heights.
At the heart of this edition is Guinness Smooth, stepping in to amplify the creative energy through its ‘Make It Yours’ campaign, a call that urges young Ugandans to take what inspires them and turn it into something uniquely their own.
The day will begin with a free conference at 11 a.m., drawing hundreds of artists, producers, and music lovers eager to learn from industry heavyweights. The lineup includes some of the most influential players shaping Africa’s sound — from Mavin Records of Nigeria, home to stars like Rema and Ayra Starr, to executives from Warner Music Group, Virgin Music, and Downtown Music Publishing Africa, who will explore how African creativity is transforming global music markets.
Uganda’s own creative leaders will also take center stage. Swangz Avenue, the Uganda Musicians Association, and figures like Benon Mugumbya, Lucy Smize, Sheila Gashumba, and Kenya’s Anyiko Owoko will share insights on music business strategy, branding, and creative authenticity.
“Guinness Smooth is all about encouraging creators to reimagine what’s possible — to take inspiration from their world and make it their own,” said Denis Nazzinda, Brand Manager, Guinness Smooth. “AUMEX represents that same bold, creative energy we celebrate through our Make It Yours campaign. We’re proud to be part of a movement empowering Uganda’s next generation of musicians and creators.”
As evening falls, AUMEX will shift from conversations to celebration with the AUMEX Showcase, starting at 7 p.m. The concert will bring together some of Uganda’s most exciting new acts, including Son of Aboda, Vini Mercy, Tungi, Echoled, Expect Xhavi, and DJ City Girl. The night will climax with a headline performance by South African hip-hop sensation Nasty C, as part of his Ivyson Tour.
Through AUMEX, the creative community continues to find a space where innovation meets opportunity, and where passion finds purpose. For Uganda’s young musicians and dreamers, it’s more than a platform — it’s proof that creativity, when given the right stage, doesn’t just entertain, it transforms.
