Media personality and businesswoman Anitah Fabiola has opened up about her emotional battle with postpartum depression and anxiety following the birth of her twins with husband Mark Mubiru in June.
In a candid new video shared on her platforms, Fabiola described the past eight months as “the most life-changing period” of her life, saying that while motherhood has brought immense joy, it also came with struggles she never imagined.
“Becoming a twin mom has changed everything,” she said. “This is the most honest and vulnerable I’ve ever been on camera. From the sleepless nights to the moments of joy, I wanted to share my truth in hopes that another mom out there feels seen and understood.”
The former TV host revealed that although her pregnancy and delivery were smooth, nothing could have prepared her for what came after. “I thought I had everything figured out. I had a plan, support from my family, nurses, and my husband, but I still went into postpartum depression. My recovery was long, painful, and filled with anxiety and guilt. I sometimes couldn’t function properly because I was constantly worried about my babies.”
Fabiola said she decided to keep her pregnancy and early motherhood journey private, adding that it was important for her to protect certain aspects of her life. “I’m glad I did,” she shared. “Some things are sacred, and I needed that space to adjust.”
Despite the challenges, the media personality expressed gratitude for her family’s support and said the experience has changed her outlook on life. “My priorities and sense of direction have completely shifted. I love being a mom, but nothing on earth could have prepared me for postpartum. The anxiety and the weight of this whole new world were really a lot,” she confessed.
Fabiola’s openness has been praised by fans who say her story sheds light on a subject often shrouded in silence among new mothers. Her message to other women was simple but powerful — “You are not alone.”
