One of our very own ministers, a custodian of a city’s moral and physical infrastructure, gifted the nation a timeline archive very scandalous. The minister seems to have been busy posting thoughts that make Kampala’s nightlife look like Sunday school.
We do not know if it was the Minister himself, a PA, or a social media handler who hit post years ago, but the old posts have resurfaced and everyone online is having a field day. Apparently, the minister once shared thoughts that suggested he is just as curious about personal comfort and relaxation as he is about traffic, drainage, and street lighting. Let us just say his expertise in urban affairs might extend beyond the city streets and into mastering the art of a good night’s rest, making him the only minister we know who considers both city planning and bedroom logistics as essential parts of life. If you know, you know!
Some argue these tweets reveal the true essence of the city; chaotic, bold, and unapologetically expressive. Others, more cautiously, say the Minister might actually be the state’s unofficial Minister of Eden. Either way, this timeline has done what few city policies have managed, unite Ugandans across party lines in collective laughter, debate, and sheer bewilderment.
So while Parliament has yet to introduce a dress code for tweets, perhaps the lesson is simple; not everything that feels good belongs on the internet, especially if it is naked honesty.
