After lighting up Arua, Masaka, and Gulu with unforgettable regional tours, the stage was set for the grand finale of Bell Obafest 2025 and it did not disappoint.
Last Saturday night, the Millennium Park Grounds in Lugogo were transformed into a vibrant playground of music, food, and excitement for the ‘Flavour for Your Flavour’ edition.
With Stanbic’s FlexiPay among the sponsors and Swangz Avenue curating a top-tier sound experience, the night was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment festival-goers arrived, the air was thick with anticipation. The atmosphere buzzed with delicious aromas in the air from food stalls serving up mouth-watering nyama choma, alongside juicy grilled chicken and classic rolexes from local vendors. Bell flavours added that extra zing, making sure every bite was as satisfying as every beat.
It was not just about food, though. This was an event that catered to everyone. The handicapped and the deaf were well looked after, making it a truly inclusive celebration. With so much to see and do, the event kept the energy high throughout the evening as festival-goers found themselves drawn into various games, from basketball and football to darts and karaoke, offering a break from the music while still keeping the fun alive.
But the real magic was happening on stage. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the beats kicked in, and the crowd was electrified by a line-up of DJs who took the party to the next level. Lynda Ddane, Roja, Vans, Bugy (not Gloria Bugie), City Girl, Eyo Mackus, and Dread Lazer kept the crowd hyped with non-stop jams. And with hosts such as Evelyn Mic, Josh MC, Sammy Wetala, and Tojo injecting their unique energy into the night, the vibe never dipped for a second. Then came the performances. The moment everyone had been waiting for. Kapeke, known for his infectious track Tema Ensingo, had the crowd cutting loose, with fans singing along at the top of their lungs.
Tracy Melon and Tai Dai brought their own heat, but the night truly reached a new level when Daxx Vibez, Vinka, and Ray G hit the stage. Daxx Vibez was the first to make a major splash, despite the fact that his older brother was performing at Kampala Serena Hotel that same evening. But Daxx made sure to give his fans an unforgettable experience, dropping hits such as Good Idea, At My Door, Naye, and Believe. His energy was undeniable, and the crowd ate it up.
Next up, Vinka lit up the stage with her own show-stopping set. Starting with a solo performance that included Malaika, Believe, and Sure, she quickly transitioned into a high-energy dance-off with her crew, thrilling the audience with hits such as Bailando, Checkecha, Thank God, and All Over You. She had everyone on their feet, singing and dancing to every word.
Ray G followed with a slightly more laid-back but equally powerful set, showing off his raw vocal talent. His fans sang along to his biggest tracks such as Eizooba, Weeshe, Make A Way, My Rules, and Omusheshe. But it was his powerful rendition of Owe’ishe that brought the crowd to a standstill, with Ray G giving it his all and the crowd gave it right back. On this particular song, he teamed up with Sewa Sewa on his Janzi which was a powerful moment.
By the end of the night, the crowd was buzzing with excitement. Bell Obafest 2025 had delivered everything it promised – and more. A high-energy celebration of music, food, culture, and community, the event left fans counting down months until the fourth edition.
Lillian Kansiime Ssebunya, Brand Manager for Bell at Uganda Breweries, praised the Festival’s success saying,
“For Bell ObaFest this year, we set out to celebrate the richness of how Ugandans connect through our music, our food and games, all shared over our Bell Flavors. This finale was the perfect culmination of our journey, and we responsibly toast to all our partners and consumers for this wholesome and flavorful experience that has brought us all together today.”
