A brief moment during Micki Wine’s concert at Serena Hotel over the weekend has stirred public debate after singer OS Suuna’s attempted handshake with National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi was visibly ignored.

OS Suuna, who was among the performers of the night, walked to Bobi Wine’s table mid-performance and stretched out his hand in a gesture that many assumed would symbolise respect or reconciliation. Bobi Wine did not respond, prompting a storm of reactions on social media, with opinions split on whether the politician was right or wrong to refuse the gesture.

Among those who defended Kyagulanyi’s decision was television personality Andrew Kyamagero, who took to his social media pages to weigh in on the incident. According to Kyamagero, leadership sometimes requires avoiding situations that may appear harmless to the public eye but carry deeper implications.
