Masaka’s flamboyant businessman and socialite Emmanuel Lwasa is back in the headlines, this time after announcing that his popular entertainment spot, Tavern Kick, is officially up for sale.
Lwasa is asking Shs2 billion for the property, including the land it sits on — a move he says is aimed at rescuing himself from a mounting loan with Equity Bank.
Speaking openly during an interview on Kasuku Live, Lwasa revealed that he acquired the loan to boost several of his business ventures but soon found himself struggling to meet the repayment timelines. So far, he has managed to push back Shs500 million, but the bank is still demanding over Shs600 million.
Tavern Kick has since fallen under bank seizure. However, in typical Lwasa style, negotiations took an interesting turn. Equity Bank agreed to allow him to sell the property privately instead of taking it over completely — a lifeline he hopes will save him from further financial strain.
Lwasa remains confident that once the outstanding loan is cleared, he will not only close the chapter with the bank but also regain enough breathing space to revive his other ventures.
For now, Tavern Kick stands as a reminder of Lwasa’s bold business gambles — and proof that even the most daring entrepreneurs sometimes need to reshuffle their cards.
