The Ugandan music fraternity is reeling from shock after veteran singer Clever J of the Ensi Yaleeta fame survived a deadly road accident that claimed the life of his longtime driver, Paul Kizito.

The tragic crash occurred in Nakasongola as the singer and his team were en route to Kitgum for a performance at Boma Grounds. Kizito died on the spot, while other passengers sustained severe injuries.

Clever J’s son, Jeremiah, suffered broken legs and a fractured arm, while his assistant, Power Kid, lost both legs and is reportedly battling serious stomach injuries.

All the survivors were rushed to Mulago Hospital in Kampala, where they continue to receive medical care.

Distressing videos circulating on social media show the singer and the remaining members of his team visibly shaken and receiving first aid moments after the crash.

A heartbroken Clever J mourned his fallen driver, expressing grief over the tragedy that struck without warning in the dead of night.

Clever J, born Gerald Muwonge, remains one of Uganda’s most recognizable voices from the early 2000s, best known for chart-topping hits like Manzi Wa Nani and Ensi Yaleeta. This incident has cast a somber cloud over fans and fellow musicians who continue to send messages of support and prayers for his recovery and that of his team.
