The unmistakable voice of veteran broadcaster Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba has been noticeably absent from the airwaves of CBS FM, leaving listeners wondering what became of one of the station’s most recognisable talents.
His silence has stirred a wave of speculation, with unconfirmed reports circulating widely.
Last month, CBS management stepped forward to address the concerns. In an official statement issued to “The Listeners, Fan Base of CBS FM & The General Public,” the station clarified that Nsereko had not been dismissed, but was instead on approved medical leave.
According to the statement, Nsereko had “formally applied for, and was successfully granted, medical leave to receive specialized treatment abroad.” Management further reassured the public that they were closely following his condition and remained optimistic about his full recovery.
“CBS management is constantly monitoring Mr. Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba’s situation and wishes him a speedy recovery and safe travels back home to continue serving CBS and the Kingdom at large,” the statement read.
However, fresh information reaching us indicates a new twist. According to Bbeg Media, Nsereko and CBS have mutually agreed to end his contract, signaling what could be the close of a significant chapter in his illustrious broadcasting career.
We are still gathering more details on this latest development.
Meddie Nsereko has been the face and voice behind some of CBS FM’s most influential programmes, including Kiriza Oba Gana on 89.2 FM, Palamenti Yaffe every Saturday on 88.9 FM, and the Alive and Kicking show on Sunday mornings. His departure if confirmed would mark a major shift for the station and its loyal audience.
