Musicians Gloria Bugie and Aaronx sparked controversy after a tense exchange unfolded live on television during an interview hosted by Deejay Nimrod.

The drama erupted during a question and answer segment when Nimrod asked Bugie whether she was familiar with Aaronx’s hit song Permission. Bugie responded coldly, saying she did not know the song.

“No. I know all the major songs that make sense,” she said, a remark that immediately shifted the tone of the interview.

Bugie went on to accuse Aaronx of using her name for clout, claiming he had previously spoken about her publicly but had since gone quiet.

“My advice to all artistes who seek to use other people’s names to rise should stop it,” Bugie said. “He had a lot of things he said about me and now he is quiet. I have not attacked anybody. You all know what he has been saying about me.”

In response, Aaronx explained that his past comments about Bugie stemmed from discomfort with her bold and often provocative performances, which he said are characterised by revealing outfits and sensual innuendo.

“I was like she should make music and not show her body to people,” Aaronx said during the interview.

Bugie fired back immediately, telling Aaronx to focus on his own music before turning the conversation personal. She went on to make remarks questioning his masculinity and sexuality, comments that escalated the exchange and drew visible discomfort in the studio.

Moments later, Bugie dropped the microphone and walked out of the interview, effectively ending the discussion on air.

The public clash follows earlier remarks made by Aaronx earlier this year, when he stated that he would never collaborate with Bugie or consider dating her.

“I can’t do a collaboration with Gloria Bugie,” Aaronx said at the time. “To the state that I am, a gentle guy, and the kind of work I do, has a class of people who don’t associate with certain things. She has stuff she did back then that does not permit me to work with her.”

He further added that a romantic relationship with Bugie was also out of the question, citing family values.

“I can’t even date her. How will my mother feel if such happens?” he said.
