Musician Shafique Walukagga, popularly known as Fik Fameica, is mourning the loss of his mother, Jackline Nasimbwa, who passed away yesterday at Kibuli Hospital after a long illness.

The sad news comes just hours after the singer had appealed to his fans and followers on social media to keep his mother in their prayers, revealing that her condition had worsened the previous evening.

Ms Nasimbwa was not only a supportive parent but also a familiar face at her son’s major events. Earlier this year, she attended Fik Fameica’s concert at Cricket Oval, where she joined thousands of revelers celebrating her son’s music.

She had also been present at several other concerts he organized, proudly standing by him as his career continued to grow.

While Fik Fameica was on stage entertaining the crowd at the Cricket Oval concert, his mother took time to speak to journalists, sharing her pride in her son’s journey and achievements.

“My son told me, ‘Mummy, I have to build my career. That is why we are here, we are building his career,’” she said at the time.

Despite acknowledging his success, Ms Nasimbwa noted that her son still believed he had more to achieve. “He hasn’t yet reached his goal,” she said. “Even though he has built me houses and bought me land, he feels he hasn’t yet reached where he wants to be.”
