Black Market Records has announced a new partnership, signing rising gospel star Minister Elda Salt real name Hilda Ssemanda to its roster.

The Sacramento-based international label, known for its global reach, will provide full support to the young Ugandan artist, including extensive discovery, marketing, promotion, distribution, and financing for her records.

“Elda is an amazing addition to Black Market Records, and we expect great things from her talent. We listened to her work and recognized her potential to export Ugandan music—and specifically gospel—to the world,” said Cedric Singleton, founder and CEO of Black Market Records.

Singleton praised Elda’s versatility, highlighting her deep vocal tone in the mezzo-soprano range, which allows her to deliver soulful gospel music with mastery.

He noted her impressive power and control, especially in the lower and middle registers, while reaching higher notes for a versatile and impactful performance full of emotive depth.

Cedric emphasized that Black Market Records is committing unprecedented resources, investing enough resources in the first quarter of Elda’s contract to help her make a significant mark in the gospel music industry.

He emphasized that the musician will maintain her Christian values in line with music production.

The artist will also have the freedom to collaborate with Black Market producers across Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, and the United States.
