During the unveiling of his much-talked-about list, singer Bebe Cool made a comment that left many music fans raising eyebrows. Asked about Tracey Melon, one of the standout artists of the past year, Bebe Cool admitted he did not know her.

“I don’t know this artist but I keep hearing the name Tracey Melon. I don’t know the artist but I know the name,” he said.

The remark disappointed many, especially considering Tracey Melon’s impressive run over the past year.

With hit songs like Ogenda Kukilaba, Tovayo and Kakana, all of which have surpassed one million views on YouTube, she has firmly established herself as one of the country’s most promising voices.

Instead of clapping back, she expressed gratitude and focused on growth.

“Thank you so much for having recognized Tracey Melon this year. I am grateful, thank you very much,” she said. “I am going to work more on people getting to know me because many people know the songs but don’t know the name, and sometimes they know the name but not the face. So I am really working on putting a face to the name.”
