The Ugandan entertainment industry is mourning the reported death of renowned city deejay DJ Ciza, whose passing was confirmed on the afternoon of Saturday, January 24, 2026.
According to sources close to the family, DJ Ciza, born Mwalye Seth on January 26, 1992, had been battling liver-related health complications. Friends further reveal that he had also been struggling emotionally following the death of his father slightly over a month ago.
As news of his passing spread, messages of shock, grief, and condolences quickly flooded social media, with fellow deejays, artists, promoters, and fans remembering him as a talented creative who left a strong imprint on the local music scene.
DJ Ciza built a solid brand for himself through his signature mixes, skillfully blending Ugandan sounds with African and international music. His ability to seamlessly fuse genres earned him a loyal following and positioned him among the most respected urban deejays of his generation.
He rose to massive popularity during the COVID-19 lockdown period, when his online mixes became a soundtrack for many confined at home. At the time, he was under the management of Ad Kamara, a phase that marked a significant turning point in his career and visibility.
While official details regarding burial arrangements and memorial services are yet to be communicated, the music industry continues to rally around his family, sending prayers and heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
More information surrounding his passing and final send-off will be shared as it becomes available.
