After weeks of speculation surrounding Grace Khan’s sudden disappearance from the public eye, the family has finally spoken out to confirm what many had been quietly wondering.
“The news is true,” said her elder brother, James Kutesa, breaking the family’s silence. “As a family, all we can tell you is that it is true Grace Khan is in rehab. That is why you did not see her performing at any of the events that happened in December.”
According to Kutesa, she voluntarily entered a rehabilitation facility in November, a decision made with the support of both doctors and family members. She has remained there ever since, focusing on recovery away from the spotlight that has long followed her career.
Medical professionals overseeing her treatment have reportedly prescribed a six-month rehabilitation program, emphasizing the importance of time, consistency, and a stable environment for her full recovery.
However, the journey has not been without challenges. The rehab centre, located in Gayaza, is now demanding six million shillings, an amount that has accumulated through admission fees, medication, food, and daily care.
Kutesa explained that the cost has placed a heavy financial burden on the family. He added that discussions are ongoing between the family and the facility to explore the possibility of discharging her so she can continue treatment from home, an option that would significantly reduce expenses while still allowing her to heal under medical guidance.
