Widely celebrated as one of Uganda’s most influential reggae voices, Maddox hasn’t dropped new tracks in years yet his classics continue to echo through speakers, parties, and playlists. While some fans have grown impatient, the legend says there’s no cause for alarm.
In a recent TV interview, Maddox revealed that stepping back from frequent releases wasn’t about losing passion but about priorities.
“Life is good, and music is around as usual. We have grown up doing this, and we will continue doing it forever. As they ask for new music, they should be consuming what we have released so far. We are still cooking for the people.”
Rather than fading out, Maddox has been recalibrating. Beyond music, he has invested his time in personal ventures and business projects that demand equal dedication. For him, it’s about balance, not burnout.
“I have many songs,” he explained. “But I also have a lot of businesses that take up my time. I have other projects I’m working on, and they need my attention too.”
In an era where artists feel pressured to constantly drop content to stay relevant, Maddox is taking a different route, choosing patience over panic, strategy over speed. While many musicians scramble to stay afloat, he remains grounded, confident that timeless music doesn’t expire.
Music, he insists, is still his first love. The fire hasn’t dimmed but is simply simmering.
“We are still feeding on the one we already have. My people should stay calm and happy.”
