Uganda’s king of punchlines, Patrick Idringi aka Salvador, has officially announced the return of Africa Laughs—and Season 7 is shaping up to be the biggest comedy party of the year! Mark your calendars for October 25th at the Kingdom Kampala parking lot, because the laughter marathon is back.
The announcement was made on Thursday at the I&M Bank Atrium in Kingdom Kampala, the same spot that will host the festival. With Salphine Productions behind the wheel, expect a night packed with belly-aching laughter, top-notch entertainment, and vibes you’ll be quoting for weeks.
Salvador has promised a star-studded lineup of both homegrown and continental comedy powerhouses. Flying in for the show are Basket Mouth (Nigeria), Eric Omondi (Kenya), Mpho Popps (South Africa), Celeste Ntuli (South Africa), and Akau Jambo (South Sudan).
Uganda’s stage will be blazing too, with Salvador himself performing a one-hour set, joined by the hilarious Anne Kansiime, Dr. Hillary Okello, Emmah Napoleon, Madrat & Chiko, Pablo, Ronnie McVex, and more.
But it’s not just about comedy. Music legends Jose Chameleone and Juliana Kanyomozi will take the stage, alongside Janzi Band and DJ Moustey, blending beats and punchlines for one massive entertainment cocktail.
“I’m super excited,” Salvador told journalists, holding back tears. “The lineup is incredible. This year, I made the Ugandan cast even bigger to prove that our comedy can stand tall on the international stage. You’re in for magic.”
The comedian also dedicated this edition to his late friends Rajiv Ruparelia and Cedric Babu, crediting them for supporting his journey.
Launched in 2013, Africa Laughs has grown into Uganda’s most celebrated comedy festival, mixing stand-up, storytelling, poetry, political jokes, and social commentary. If there’s one show that defines comedy culture in Kampala, this is it.
