The NRM has been busy, busy like a boda driver during rush hour. They just launched their manifesto, and, as usual, it reads like a Game of Thrones script but with graphs, statistics, and enough reminders to make you feel guilty for not appreciating them sooner. Honestly, reading it feels like dealing with that one nagging boss who keeps telling you, remember when I gave you that chance no one else wanted to?
Or that one ex who cannot stop reminding you how they loved you when you were broke and eating posho straight from the bag. The NRM has perfected this art making sure we all know life before 1986 was basically a before photo, and everything since has been the after glow-up. Their manifesto is full of charts and comparisons. Where we started, where we are, and where they intend to take us.
The upward curve is highlighted in neon so even the most sleep-deprived reader cannot miss it. And of course, there is a lot about the gains they intend to protect, the economy doubling, poverty dropping 21 percent, farmers thriving basically, if you have not considered farming yet, 2026 might just be your year to plant maize and cassava like a true patriot. That is where the bag we have been chasing all long might be .
Meanwhile, in slightly more musical news, President Museveni launched the Yoweri album by the Uganda National Musicians Federation, led by Eddy Kenzo, at Munyonyo. The event was colourful enough to rival a Wakaliwood movie premiere. Sevo thanked Eddy and all the musicians for finally getting organised, a phrase that in Uganda basically translates to better late than never.
The president then also soft launched Kenzo’s dad, Eddy Kenzo has recently discovered his potential bloodline connection to Chefe Ali, one of the historical NRA fighters. He has been gradually building a bond with the Chefe Ali family. Kili Uganda, mama nyabo! And of course, Museveni has done this album launch thing before. In 2023, he launched Munamasaka Emma Nsereko’s album Museveni Awooma.I do not know who keeps listening to these albums , at least I can confirm Apple Music does not know about them yet. Anyway, while some of us struggle to boil water without burning it, but the President keeps multitasking, well, he is out here launching albums and manifestos like it is a weekend hobby.
