Golf is not a sport for every Tom, Dick, and Harry. It is a game of precision and discipline where every element, from grip and stance to posture and swing, demands technical mastery and relentless focus.
Yet that challenge has not stopped Ugandan socialite and influencer Shanita Namuyimba, better known as Bad Black, from stepping onto the green.
Famous for her bold, go-getter attitude, Bad Black has built a reputation for taking on life’s challenges head-on and golf, one of the world’s most technically demanding sports, is her latest conquest.
She began taking golf lessons in July under the mentorship of Boniface Simwa, one of Uganda’s top professionals and the resident coach at the prestigious Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa.
To underline her commitment, Bad Black went a step further by joining the Serena Golf Club widely regarded as the country’s most exclusive and expensive club, where membership is paid in dollars.
While her ultimate ambition in the sport remains uncertain, one thing is clear: golf offers more than just a leisure pursuit. It opens doors to valuable networks and connections, and for someone with Bad Black’s charisma and influence, those doors could lead anywhere.
Learning golf’s fundamentals usually takes several months, with progress becoming visible between two and six months of consistent practice. But mastering the game is a lifelong pursuit — even seasoned golfers continue to refine their swing, accuracy, and mental discipline.
For Bad Black, the fairway is now her newest frontier one where style, determination, and patience come together in every swing.
