With a striking blend of confidence and purpose, Miss Uganda Trivia Muhooza has embarked on her Back to My Roots Homecoming Tour, a journey defined not by pageantry, but by service, healing, and an unwavering commitment to national transformation.
She announced that her reign will be anchored in the Elle Cares Initiative, a comprehensive platform dedicated to ending gender-based violence, empowering youth through education, and expanding access to community health and clean water. Her message was both passionate and urgent. These pillars, she said, are not symbolic. They respond to real struggles affecting Ugandan families every day.
At the heart of her advocacy is the fight against gender-based violence. Through Elle Cares, she is launching initiatives that raise awareness, strengthen survivor support systems, and centre collective responsibility within communities. Among these initiatives is the 23 Queens Project, a transformative programme designed to rebuild women’s confidence, enhance economic opportunity, and equip them with essential life skills. Complementing this is Men for Change, a groundbreaking effort that positions men and boys as allies in dismantling cycles of abuse, silence, and stigma.
She further announced a mental health outreach at Butabika Hospital, underscoring her commitment to trauma healing and emotional wellness. She noted that mental health remains one of the most overlooked issues in national conversations, despite being central to the lived experiences of survivors of violence and inequality.
Education and youth empowerment form the second pillar of her agenda. With visible pride, she unveiled the Rewards for Education App, a digital innovation that gives students access to verified academic documents, scholarships, incentives, and educational rewards. Her hope is that technology will bridge opportunity gaps and inspire academic excellence in a generation growing up in an increasingly digital world.
Her third pillar focuses on community health, menstrual dignity, sanitation, and improved water access. She reaffirmed Elle Cares’ commitment to menstrual health awareness, the distribution of sanitary kits, mental wellness campaigns, and the construction of water and sanitation systems in underserved communities. These interventions, she said, are foundational to dignity, safety, and the welfare of future generations.
Central to her announcement is the Back to My Roots Homecoming Tour, taking place from November 26 to November 28. She described this return not as a beauty queen seeking celebration, but as a daughter going back home with intention and love. Over the three-day tour, she will oversee the renovation of her mother’s former primary school, benefitting more than 370 pupils. She will launch the Elle Cares Sports Gala in Katovu, Malongo; begin the construction of new toilet facilities in Lwengo; distribute sanitary pads and hygiene kits to girls; drill boreholes through a partnership with SIAS; and conclude with a community thanksgiving service.
Her homecoming is symbolic, yet deeply practical. It reflects her belief that true leadership begins in the very places that moulded us.
Looking ahead, she shared plans to uplift Uganda’s global identity through coffee, which she called “our national pride.” She pledged to champion the coffee sector as a pathway to youth employment, women-led enterprise development, global investment, and sustainable growth.
She also announced the Influential Women Gala 2025, an event designed to honour exceptional Ugandan women across sectors and create spaces for mentorship, leadership, and legacy building.
“My reign is rooted in ending violence, empowering youth, restoring dignity, and bringing hope back to our communities,” she said.
