For years, fans have confidently repeated a popular narrative that before rising as a star, Vinka served as Irene Ntale’s manager during her Swangz Avenue era. The picture painted was simple: Vinka running errands, coordinating media, negotiating bookings, and managing the singer’s day-to-day career.

But according to Irene Ntale, that story has always been inaccurate.

Speaking in a candid conversation with Shalom Kaweesi, Ntale clarified that Vinka never worked as her manager and was never entrusted with managerial responsibilities.

“That is a narrative they pushed later, claiming my former manager had been replaced,” Ntale said. “I do not even know why people referred to her as my manager. My actual managers were the owners of Swangz, Kyazze and Benon. Vinka was more of a personal assistant. We did everything together. She was my handler, not my manager.”

Ntale went on to reveal that beyond the public perception, she actually played a supportive role in Vinka’s transition into music.

She shared that she recognized Vinka’s potential long before the rest of the country and often invited her to join studio sessions and vocal training, moments she believes planted the early seeds of Vinka’s now successful career.

“When she began singing, I knew about it way before the rest of the country,” Ntale said. “I was still at Swangz when she told me. I always invited her to my studio sessions, and we did vocal training together.”
