Navio’s much-anticipated orchestra show at Serena unfolded with elegance and power, but one absence stood out. Bobi Wine, who shared the classic hit Bad Man from Kamwokya with Navio, did not attend the historic concert.
When asked about it, Navio explained that Bobi Wine had informed him he would not make it because he is currently on a presidential campaign trail. Navio said this is not a guild president race. It is the leadership of the country, and he understood the magnitude of the responsibility that kept Bobi Wine away.
Even with his absence, Bobi Wine did not leave Navio’s moment unattended. He sent representatives to stand in for him, and Navio noted that all his brothers turned up and supported the show. Their presence added warmth to an already emotional night.
Navio’s performance was the first of its kind in East Africa. It was a fully sold-out orchestra concert that blended hip hop with classical arrangements, delivering a sound and experience that pushed creative boundaries. The success of the show not only thrilled fans but also cemented Navio’s position as one of the cornerstones of Uganda’s music industry.
