Musician Cinderella Sanyu, better known as Cindy, has shared her thoughts on the escalating standoff between Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo, a feud that has dominated headlines since the NRM campaign trail kicked off.
The tension flared after Kenzo accused the Gagamel camp of deliberately undermining his performances. He claims the sabotage ranges from microphones mysteriously going mute right before he performs, to sudden technical glitches, and even media crews allegedly being instructed to ignore him. To him, these repeated disruptions are anything but accidental.
Cindy says she may not fully grasp the root of the conflict, but she is convinced the friction is fueled by the struggle for visibility at the President’s events rather than personal hatred.
“The music industry is like a jungle,” she noted. “You don’t just walk in and disrespect those you found there. The jungle has its laws, and anyone who forgets that will definitely clash with the lions.”
She believes leadership in the entertainment sector is never simple and sympathized with Kenzo, acknowledging that the situation is too layered for easy advice.
Despite the tensions, Cindy remains confident that the two stars will eventually find common ground. Their shared history, she says, outweighs the heat of current politics.
According to her, Bebe Cool is not trying to overshadow Kenzo but is instead demanding recognition as a pioneer in the industry — especially from the Uganda National Musicians Federation president.
“Once Kenzo gives Bebe Cool the respect he deserves and shows him that he matters, Bebe will guide him,” Cindy argued. “No one should aim to appear greater than those who cleared the path.”
