Ugandan socialite, model, and Fashionista Katrina Nilzero has finally spoken about her long-rumoured fallout with media personality Sheila Gashumba, saying there is no bad blood between them, only distance that came with time.
In an interview, Katrina was asked about the state of their friendship and what led to their drifting apart. She brushed off any suggestion of conflict, insisting that nothing dramatic ever happened.
“I have no problem with her. I just look at her,” Katrina said. “Yes, we were close, but people outgrow each other.”
She went on to explain that relationships change, just like life itself, and not every connection is meant to last forever.
“If a man can die and you move on, how about someone you just met in Kampala? It is not a must that you stay close with someone,” she said.
Katrina stressed that she does not hold any resentment toward Sheila and wishes her well, noting that they have not spoken in years.
“When did I last talk to her? Maybe two or three years ago. I have never had a problem with her. I do not wish her anything bad. I am okay.”
Addressing claims that their separation was linked to business competition, Katrina dismissed the idea, saying both women are simply focused on their own paths.
“I bought a house, my shop is here, her businesses are also booming. There is nothing we are helping each other with,” she said. “Katrina is Katrina, Sheila Gashumba is Sheila Gashumba.”
She recalled that during their friendship, they supported each other’s ambitions. Katrina revealed that long before opening her shop, Sheila was among the people who encouraged her.
“When we used to talk, I would tell her I wanted to open a shop one day and she encouraged me,” Katrina said. “When she opened hers, I went and supported her out of love.”
She added that although she had the money and energy to start her business earlier, she believed in waiting for the right time.
“My time had not reached yet. When my time came, you can see the shop,” she said.
Katrina concluded by making it clear that there is no feud, only two women living separate lives.
“She has her own life. I have mine.”
