Just days after hosting their kukyala and introduction ceremony in Masaka, singer Rebecca Kukiriza, popularly known as Chosen Becky, and her partner Abdul Ssekajja have officially tied the knot.
The couple sealed their union in a civil wedding held today, December 16, in a simple ceremony officiated by a judge. The intimate event was attended by a small circle of close family members and friends.
Chosen Becky confirmed the milestone on social media, sharing a Bible verse alongside the announcement of her new status. Quoting Matthew 19:6, she wrote, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate,” before adding, “Officially Mrs Ssekajja,” accompanied by a ring emoji.
While the public confirmation came today, reports indicate that the couple had quietly completed their civil marriage weeks earlier and are now celebrating the achievement of that important step in their relationship.
Speculation about their civil union first gained traction during their recent introduction ceremony, where the pair were spotted wearing matching shiny wedding bands, fuelling rumours that they had already exchanged vows.
Sources close to the couple say their choice of a civil marriage was influenced by their different religious backgrounds, with the option offering a unifying path that respected both sides.
