Media personality Sheilah Gashumba has spoken out following the arrest of YouTuber Shalom Kaweesi, criticising police for what she described as misplaced priorities.

Kaweesi was arrested on Monday and charged with cyber harassment, with reports indicating that socialite Full Figure is the complainant. The development has since sparked widespread debate online, with several public figures questioning whether the matter warranted police intervention.

Taking to her social media platforms, Gashumba expressed frustration over what she termed “pointless TikTok drama,” arguing that law enforcement should be focusing on more serious crimes affecting the country.

“Many criminals are walking free and the police of Uganda is focusing on arresting Shalom for pointless TikTok drama,” she wrote.

She further highlighted what she sees as a stark contrast between the arrest and the prevalence of grave crimes such as rape, murder, theft, corruption and domestic violence.

“The many rapists, murderers, thieves and corrupt leaders, men beating up women are on the streets of Kampala yet they should be in Luzira, but the police of Uganda is concentrating on TikTok wars,” Gashumba added.

She concluded by urging police to redirect their efforts toward ensuring public safety, stressing that protecting citizens should remain the top priority.
