Fashion designer and events impresario Abryanz has stirred fresh buzz after revealing plans to bring British DJ Skyla Tylaa to Uganda for one of his upcoming events. The announcement, made via Snapchat, instantly set social media alight, less for the booking itself and more for the drama it appears to revive.
Reading between the lines, many believe the move is a subtle jab at media personality Sheilah Gashumba, who recently clashed with Skyla Tylaa during a performance in Kigali. In a series of posts shared days ago, Skyla accused Sheilah of interfering with her set, urging her to “understand how to DJ” and respect the role of a warm-up act.
Sheilah Gashumba alias DJ Lil Stunner, fired back just as swiftly, dismissing Skyla’s claims and questioning her status as a “top female DJ.” Sheilah further alleged that Skyla had originally been scheduled to perform earlier in the day but later panicked and asked to be placed between Sheilah’s set, claims that only fueled the online spectacle.
Although Skyla later retracted her remarks and the public spat seemed to cool off, Abryanz’s promise to fly Skyla Tylaa into what many are calling “Sheilah’s backyard” has reopened the conversation.
