Days after confirming she had parted ways with long-time manager Roger Lubega, the Ugandan singer Spice Diana brushed off claims that artists lose relevance once they change management, calling the narrative tired, lazy, and wildly out of touch with reality.
According to Spice Diana, switching managers is no different from changing jobs in search of growth. People don’t quit and instantly fail; they evolve.
“That mindset is very ancient,” she said, adding that progress often comes from knowing when it’s time to move on.
She didn’t stop there. Addressing critics who have already written her future for her, the singer pushed back hard. No one, she noted, has the authority to predict another person’s destiny.
“Stop thinking for people and their lives. You’re just a human being like me. Nobody knows my future. Leave that to God,” she said, reflecting on life’s temporary nature and unexpected turns.
Spice Diana revealed that she and Roger had actually gone their separate ways almost a year ago, quietly closing a professional chapter that lasted over a decade. The public confirmation only came this week.
She also acknowledged that her success has been built in phases, guided by different hands at different times. From Emma Carlos, who helped elevate her to a new level, to Roger, who placed her firmly in a strong position within the industry, Spice Diana says every chapter mattered.
Now, she’s focused on what’s next. Currently working with Ganto and Frank Mars, the singer says she’s surrounded by people she trusts and who are already delivering results.
