Ugandan girl trio Warafiki are standing tall in their fashion choices and they believe the industry is finally catching up.
While speaking during an appearance on a Radio station, the Steve Jean managed group suggested that their bold commitment to coordinated outfits may have quietly influenced fellow female duo Kataleya & Kandle, who have recently embraced matching fashion looks.
According to Warafiki, their identical styling wasn’t always celebrated. In fact, it once attracted heavy criticism, with some observers dismissing it as old-fashioned or unnecessary.
“People used to laugh at our matching outfits and call them outdated,” the trio shared. “Now when you look at girl groups in the U.K. and the U.S.A, they’re all dressing alike.”
The group believes this global shift has also trickled down to the local scene.
“Even here at home, Kataleya & Kandle didn’t dress the same,” they noted. “Now they do. Maybe we inspired them. Our look is beautiful, it’s trendy, and people genuinely love our style. We are told that all the time.”
Their coordinated fashion, once questioned, has now become a defining part of their brand, one that continues to earn praise from fans and spark conversation within the industry.
