Ugandan musician Vincent Kibalama, popularly known as Green Daddy, has accused medical staff at Mulago National Referral Hospital of negligence following the death of his newborn child.
In the viral footage, an anguished Green Daddy is seen confronting hospital staff and addressing the public, claiming his child died after hours without medical attention.
“My child has died in pain. The baby died without any medical expert attending to them. We spent four hours here without a doctor,” the visibly distraught artist said.
Green Daddy questioned Mulago’s reputation as a specialized national referral hospital, arguing that it failed to offer the urgent care expected of such an institution, particularly for vulnerable patients like newborns.
According to the singer, his pleas for immediate medical intervention were dismissed. He claims that when he asked whether his baby could receive special attention due to the critical condition, a doctor reportedly told him that the hospital does not prioritize patients and that “everyone is treated the same.” The response, he said, left him shocked and disillusioned.
As tensions escalated, hospital staff reportedly urged him to calm down. However, Green Daddy refused, insisting that silence would only perpetuate what he described as systemic neglect.
He further accused hospital security guards of attempting to assault him as he recorded the incident, saying he was documenting the situation to expose what he believes is routine mistreatment of patients at the facility.
In one of the most alarming claims, Green Daddy alleged that at least four newborn babies died during the same period, deaths he attributes to delayed or absent medical care.
The hospital administration had not immediately issued an official response to the allegations by press time.
