Buchaman has once again stirred conversation after openly revealing that he has more than six women in his life and is now considering holding his first official wedding ceremony in Jamaica.
The outspoken artist made the revelation over the weekend while attending Daddy Andre’s kwanjula ceremony in Busia. Speaking during the celebrations, Buchaman admitted that Andre’s decision to formally commit to his partner has pushed him to start thinking seriously about doing the same.

According to Buchaman, it is not money that has stopped him from organizing a wedding. He says he has long had the financial ability to hold a ceremony but chose not to because of his unique relationship setup.
“I would have gotten the money to do the ceremony long ago but I have many women. I have over six women,” he said. “Ceremonies are good but I didn’t want to put rules on my women because when you go into wedding things, there are rules that come in place like having one wife.”
The self-styled Jamaican enthusiast added that when he eventually decides to walk down the aisle, he wants the ceremony to take place in Jamaica, a country he has consistently associated himself with throughout his music career.
Buchaman, born Mark Bugembe, has been in a long-term relationship with Maama Ghetto, real name Claire Nanganja. The two met in 2006 and have been together for 19 years, nine of which they have described as marriage. However, they have never held an official wedding ceremony, stopping only at a traditional Kukyala introduction.
Reflecting on Daddy Andre’s milestone, Buchaman admitted that seeing fellow artists take steps toward formal marriage has challenged him to rethink his own position. Still, he maintained that committing to a wedding would come with expectations he has not been ready to embrace.
“As someone who has not done this, Daddy Andre has really challenged me. I have not introduced my wife officially; I only did Kukyala. Not even a wedding,” he said. “I would have collected the money needed for all the ceremonies, but I have many women. These functions are very good, but when you decide to go this route, they start putting restrictions on you, saying you must have one woman.”
